Fordyce disease is harmless, but also a source of great anxiety and embarrassment for cosmetic reasons. At this time, there are no standard treatments for the condition, and doctors generally do not offer patients a specific treatment. These Fordyce’s spots, named after dermatologist John Addison Fordyce, are not caused by any disease. The bumps are a natural occurrence on the body. In addition, they are very common and estimated to be present in approximately 80 percent of the population. There are a variety of treatment options available, and it is possible to reduce the amount of these spots, and in some cases, get rid of them.

The exact cause of Fordyce’s spots is not known, but experts believe there may be a genetic link. Fordyce’s disease is not caused by viruses or bacteria and is not contagious. Even though these spots are present at birth, they usually do not appear until a child reaches puberty. A doctor can diagnose the condition with a visual exam. It is the white or yellowish colour that indicates the spots are caused by sebaceous glands and not more serious condition. You should always consult a doctor if you notice any type of bumps or pustules on the genital area because Fordyce disease can resemble genital warts.

Since Fordyce disease is common, coping with the condition means talking openly about it. There are support groups available for those who feel depressed because of their condition. Most people are surprised to discover that others do not notice the bumps and are not concerned about them. So, it is best to be honest and explain the condition to those who ask. Once the condition is explained and your acquaintances learn that it is harmless and not contagious, everyone involved will feel more at ease.

There are treatment options for those suffering with Fordyce disease. CU-skin Cosmeceuticals™ makes a product know as Anti Sebum, which is a gel the person applies in a thin layer to the affected area daily. Anti Sebum works by absorbing excess oils, shrinking pores and reducing the production of sebum. The product is safe to use on the lips and genital area. When used as directed you should see a reduction in the bumps within seven days. However, in severe Fordyce disease cases several treatments may be necessary before you can see results.

If you suffer with Fordyce disease and want to end the embarrassment, try Anti Sebum today.

Fordyce spots, also known as Fordyce’s condition, are small bumps that appear during puberty and last throughout a person’s lifetime. These bumps are harmless and are caused by the naturally occurring oil under the skin, sebum, being trapped. Generally, an oil gland exists under a hair follicle and sends oil to the hair shaft, but if there is not hair, the oil is trapped and forms the bumps. Both men and women can suffer with the condition and the bumps may appear on the lips or genitalia. The bumps are harmless and do not cause any symptoms or discomfort on the affected area.

Men who suffer with Fordyce’s condition of the penis may find the bumps embarrassing and this can lead to low self-confidence and inhibit intimate relationships. When the bumps appear on the penis or in the genital region, many people may find it alarming and suspect they have a sexually transmitted disease, but only a doctor can determine if your bumps are something more serious, such as venereal disease. Fordyce spots can appear on the penis or the vulva, but men are more likely to suffer with the condition than women. If you do notice spots in the genital area contact a doctor for proper diagnosis.

There are some natural ways to treat Fordyce’s condition in both men and women. Eating a healthy diet that includes adequate B-complex vitamins along with vitamins A, C, D, E and K can also help reduce the appearance of spots. In addition, some people find that adding garlic to their diet helps reduce the occurrence of the spots. It is also important to practice good personal hygiene as this may help as well. When the area is treated improperly, it can cause irritation and other problems, so only use products made to treat this specific condition.

There are many treatment options for Fordyce’s condition. One safe and effective treatment is Anti Sebum. This gel is applied to the affect area twice daily and it absorbs the excess oil in and around the affecting area, greatly reducing, and in some cases eliminating, the unsightly spots. The product also helps shrink pores and reduce the production of sebum. You can use Anti Sebum on the lips and the genitals as it made from natural, safe ingredients.

If you suffer with Fordyce’s condition and are embarrassed by it, start using Anti-Sebum today and eliminate the unsightly spots.

It can be quite alarming when one notices spots or raised bumps appearing on the genital area or around the lips, not to mention embarrassing. Many times when bumps occur in these areas, the sufferer worries that they are a symptom of a venereal disease, when in fact, they may be a harmless overstimulation of lubricating glands in the skin known as Fordyce spots. One way to ease the mind, compare the bumps to Fordyce spots pictures. Comparing the look of the spots to other conditions can also help rule out more serious diseases, like venereal warts.

The Fordyce spots are harmless, but also embarrassing. Fordyce spots, or Fordyce granules, are small harmless, bumps the begin appearing during puberty on various areas of the body, including the lips and genitalia. The condition can affect both men and women, but is seen more often in males. While the bumps are no cause for alarm, they are unsightly and many people who have them find them embarrassing and seek a cure. Whether on the lips or the genitals areas, the bumps cause the sufferer to avoid others. This leads to a search for a Fordyce spots treatment, and some treatments go beyond just reducing the size an appearance to actually getting rid of them completely.

The Fordyce spots are caused by sebum, which is naturally occurring oil in the skin. Usually, these oil glands exist under a hair follicle and the oil is then secreted into the hair shaft, but in the case of Fordyce spots, there is not hair and the oil is trapped under the skin. These spots are not pimples, as there is no redness, swelling or pus associated with their growth. The spot are not contagious and are only a problem aesthetically, as many people find them unsightly and embarrassing and seek a Fordyce spots treatment to get rid of them.

Fordyce spots are small white bumps caused by oil, or sebum, trapped under the skin. The spots are harmless, but may be alarming to a man who discovers he has Fordyce penis spots. At first he may be worried that he has contracted a sexually transmitted disease, but these bumps differ from venereal warts. They do not cause any itching, burning or irritation and in no way are contagious. However, the bumps are considered unsightly by many men and may inhibit intimacy. The amount of spots and their occurrences vary by person and treatments also work differently for each person.

A man who discovers he has Fordyce penis spots may worry what other might think if they see them, especially sexual partners. The man may also wonder how to explain what they are if the other person asks. He should assure others that they are harmless and not contagious, while explaining that they are an overgrowth of the lubricating glands under the skin. The medical term for the condition is sebaceous hyperplasia. There are other ways to positively deal with the condition. Instead of letting it bother you, talk to others about it and you may find support from other sufferers. The truth is that most people will not notice the spots or will not be bothered by them.

If a man suspects he has Fordyce penis spots, self-examination is not a true diagnosis. A doctor visit is important, as only a medical professional can determine if the bumps are true Fordyce spots or caused by another condition. Once diagnosed, the doctor may be able to recommend a treatment. Treating the condition can reduce the appearance of spots and in some cases eliminate them completely. Reducing spots also reduces the man’s anxiety and embarrassment and allows him to feel more capable of intimacy.

One treatment available for Fordyce penis spots is Anti-Sebum. This product is a gel that is applied in a thin layer to the affect area twice daily and helps absorb the excess oil that causes the bumps. When used regularly as part of a daily cleansing routine, the gel reduces the production of sebum, tightens pores and helps eliminate the unsightly bumps. The product is a proven safe and effective for treatment of Fordyce spots. The Anti Sebum contains natural ingredients based on modern dermatological research.

If you are embarrassed by Fordyce penis spots, try Anti-Sebum today.

Fordyces spots treatment is a highly prized goal for those who suffer from this condition. Marked by bumps on the skin of the labia, the penis or lips of the face, sufferers often feel ashamed and alone while they search for answers. This is not a sexually transmitted disease. It’s not contagious and it’s not a reflection on personal grooming habits. It’s simply a condition in which there is an overproduction of the waxy or oily secretions of the ectopic sebaceous glands. These glands are normally located under the skin, but in some instances they reside on the skin’s surface and there they cause unsightly bumps and spots.

Liquid nitrogen is more commonly used to freeze and remove unwanted warts. The process is technically referred to as Cryotherapy. It basically kills the wart tissue, its root and the blood vessels that feed it through the introduction of ultra cold. The doctor may choose to remove the top layers of skin in the target area before applying this option and a local anaesthetic may be necessary. The liquid nitrogen can then be applied to the affected area. Multiple applications may be necessary to see results. On occasion, doctors or dermatologists may also consider this option for Fordyces spots treatment.

While using Cryotherapy as a Fordyces spots treatment is possible, it does have some drawbacks. It’s painful. If multiple applications are necessary, there is normally a one to three week delay in between applications. After treatment, blisters may form over the affected areas. It is very important to keep them clean and free of irritation. This procedure should only be done by a licensed dermatologist or doctor. While there are over the counter liquid nitrogen kits available for wart removal, it is highly advisable to avoid them in this situation. You may experience an improvement in the appearance of the bumps, but proceed with caution.

Compare all the possible Fordyces spots treatment options to find the one which suits you best. Some will be more invasive than others. Some will involve more pain. Look at how effective the various choices are. Compare their costs and how long the course of treatment will take. Remember to consider your personal and professional schedule and commitments. Will you be able to work around the demands of the treatment? Will the treatment give you the results you desire? How will you handle it if the treatment is not successful? These are all factors to use as guideposts for finding your best treatment option.

Fordyce Spots Cure – How Your Attitude Can Help Treatment

Fordyce condition results in small spots or bumps that mark the skin around the genital region and sometimes the lips on the face. These bumps affect both men and women. All ages exhibit the condition. For men, the bumps show up on the penis. For women the labia and areola may be affected. It’s not an STD. It’s not contagious and it doesn’t indicate poor personal hygiene. For the most part, the largest impact the symptoms have is on the personal psyche. It’s very common to see shame and embarrassment along with this condition. Treatment is available, but the real Fordyce spots cure is all about attitude.

Many people develop a severe sense of self consciousness regarding their spots. They worry about how any future sexual partners may react to seeing or feeling the bumps. They worry about the assumptions and misinterpretations someone may make. They worry about their health. After all, the spots don’t look normal and the can change over time. Perhaps this really is something dangerous or harmful. Some begin to doubt their level of attractiveness or even self worth. It really can be a powerfully negative experience. While treatment is available for the physical symptoms of this condition, the real Fordyce spots cure is all in the mind.

Treatment options include chemical peels, which use a combination of chemical ingredients to literally strip away one or more layers of skin to expose the smoother skin beneath. Or there are vaporizing laser treatments. This method uses intense light beams to literally evaporate unwanted areas of skin. You may consider liquid nitrogen to freeze off the offending bumps. Or research some of the very popular topical options for ease of use and have proven to be quite effective. Of course, none of these is a Fordyce spots cure. Those bumps are not the result of disease, and as such, they don’t need a cure, only a treatment.

The real Fordyce spots cure is in the attitude. There are several treatment options to choose from for dealing with the physical side of this issue. At least one of them should be suitable for most situations. The real change, though, will come when those who suffer from Fordyce condition learn to be comfortable with their bodies and know that those who love them will be, too. That doesn’t mean to lay back and accept what can be changed. It simply means to make the changes that can be made and then celebrate the end product, no matter what that may be.

Anti-Sebum uses nano-liposome technology to penetrate the skin for targeted treatment of the sebaceous gland.

Fordyce Condition and Depression

Fordyce condition is indicated by the presence of small bumps, most often white, pale or reddish in colour in both the male and female genitalia. Specifically, these bumps appear on the penis, the labia and sometimes even around or on lips of the face. Men and women, from young to adult, can suffer from this condition. Even though the spots are not related to any sort of genital cancer or sexually transmitted disease, they do profoundly affect the self-image of those who bear them. Sexual identity and confidence can be easily damaged. Anything out of the ordinary can really cause emotional distress, even depression.

The bumps and spots caused by Fordyce condition can be quite visible along the shaft, base and head of the penis. Their appearance can often lead men to assume that sexual partners will find them unappealing, or worse, defective in some way. They speculate that nobody will be willing to enjoy intimacy with them. This can lead to a vicious cycle, in which the man avoids all sexual contact, assuming harsh judgment from potential partners and then he heaps that harsh judgment upon himself since nobody seems to want him, even though it is he who has chosen to withdraw.

Women are no less immune to the debilitating effects of self doubt associated with Fordyce condition. They don’t want an intimate moment ruined by a partner’s negative reaction to the appearance of the bumps and spots. These imagined scenarios of rejection are a very common side effect and the emotions they stir are quite strong. Neither women nor men wish to be labelled in a way that may damage or hurt them even beyond the immediate embarrassing situation. Nobody wants to be the subject of public ridicule or negative sexual innuendo, especially when it concerns the most intimate parts of their identities. Fear of these outcomes often leads to depression.

The good news is that Fordyce condition is easily treatable. It is not a disease. It is not an indicator of poor hygiene. It doesn’t have to be the death knell of someone’s sex life or social possibilities. Once a person knows what the condition is, and that it is harmless and quite common, he or she can move forward and begin to enjoy all aspects of life again with confidence. While the bumps may never disappear completely, their size and appearance can be diminished greatly with treatment. There are many options available and nobody should be forced to suffer needlessly.

Anti-Sebum is a topical treatment that reduces the visibility and size of Fordyce spots.

Fordyce’s Spots Treatment – Are Chemical Peels a Good Treatment Choice?

Fordyce’s spots treatment options can be quite varied, from invasive procedures to topical options. This condition is quite common, affecting both males and females of all ages. It consists of small spots or bumps that affect the skin of the genital area, although it can also affect the lips or skin around the lips on the face. It is not a sexually transmitted disease nor is it a sign of genital cancer. You cannot transmit these bumps from person to person as they are not contagious. Those who have to live with these bumps often suffer from great emotional stress and discomfort. For these people, there are treatments available.

Chemical peels are one such treatment option. Doctors use a concoction of ingredients specifically formulated for the area and condition they intend to treat. There will usually be an acid component that will do the heavy lifting of removing the unwanted bumps and spots. While not a common Fordyce’s spots treatment option, some doctors will consider it if the appearance is particularly pronounced or noticeable. A chemical solution is applied to the affected area, in most cases the genital area. In essence, this solution will peel away the top layers of skin, revealing new skin that is less marked by the spots.

This is definitely a procedure you would only want to have performed by a licensed medical practitioner. You will need to schedule an appointment at the office or clinic, so block out some time for that. While it will be an outpatient procedure, you may still have to alter your activities to accommodate the after affects as it will cause some discomfort while the treated area heals. Be prepared for a period of recovery. There has been some success with this method of Fordyce’s spots treatment, but there are other options worth noting. Make sure to research a variety of solutions to find the one that best fits your needs.

One such Fordyce’s spots treatment option worth researching involves using topical agents to reduce or remove the spots. There are several options available that are well suited for application directly to the surface of the skin and without the risk of scarring or painful periods of healing. Once you have the topical treatment on hand, you can schedule applications to fit into your busy life in the privacy of your own home. However, follow the directions carefully for the best results. Using creams or medicines applied directly to the skin is often more budget friendly and user friendly while still being quite effective.

Fordyce spots may not be harmful, but that does not mean that they do not cause the sufferer unwanted embarrassment. It may be very stressful when meeting a new sexual partner for example. So how do you treat Fordyce spots?

To reduce the appearance of the condition which is caused by sebaceous prominence in the affected area, sufferers can buy a gel based Fordyce spot treatment by Anti+Sebum.

Anti+Sebum has helped improve users’ confidence as it reduces the size and appearance of the spots. It works by combining active ingredients such as Vitamin A, Tocopherol and Regu-Sub. These ingredients absorb the excess oil and sebum coming from the spots and the surrounding affected area. The follicle of the spot is also tightened, meaning that the amount of oil coming from the gland is reduced. The result is that the appearance and size of the Fordyce spots are considerably reduced.

It is also very easy to use as users simply have to clean the affected area thoroughly and then apply a thin layer of the gel twice a day.

Although Fordyce spots may cause sufferers extreme embarrassment, they are actually harmless. Despite there being no medical evidence to suggest the spots can be passed from one sufferer to another, some people may simply want to get rid of them. The spots may affect their confidence and relationships as they fear the pimples may be a symptom of a sexually transmitted disease or something worse.

One of the most convenient forms of treatment for Fordyce spots comes in a gel form and is called Anti+Sebum. Sufferers who want to reduce the size and appearance of the small yellow coloured pimples need to clean the affected area thoroughly with an unscented soap or shower gel before applying the gel. Some of the most common areas of the body where Fordyce spots may be found are on the shaft of the penis, the labia and around the outer border of the lips.

After cleaning the area, users need to apply a small layer of the gel and wait for it to absorb into the skin. This stage needs to be repeated a second time throughout the day. Depending on the severity of the users’ spots, they may start to see the appearance of the spots reduced within one week’s use.

How does this gel treatment work to remove Fordyce spots? Ingredients such as vitamin A, Regu-Sub and Tocopherol work together to reduce the amount of sebum being produced from the spot. The follicle within the spot tightens and this reduces the size and appearance of the spot.

Fordyce spots are caused by excess sebaceous glands on the shaft of the penis, around the corners of the lips or on the labia. They are usually a pale yellow colour and are very small, measuring around 1-5 mm. However, despite their appearance, doctors are quick to exclaim they are not harmful. Fordyce spots are also not a symptom of a sexually transmitted disease or any other form of illness. They are simply a glandular skin condition affecting approximately 30-50% of the population.

A lot of sufferers worry about new sexual partners seeing them and often ask about how to cure Fordyce spots. Getting rid of Fordyce spots is not always straight forward and people affected by the condition will have to be patient when undergoing any form of treatment. The length of treatment will usually depend on how severe the spots are for example.

One of the treatments available to treat Fordyce spots is Anti+Sebum. So how does it work? Sufferers are advised to clean the affected area thoroughly before applying a thin layer of the gel. This step will need to be repeated twice a day and results can be seen from a week of treatment onwards. Depending on how serious your condition is, you may have to repeat the application over a longer period before the Fordyce spots start to become less noticeable. This is because the active ingredients react with the follicle within the spot to reduce its size and prevent it from producing as much sebum.

Fordyce spots are small, pale coloured spots which are often found on the shaft of the penis, the labia or on the corners of the lips. Although there is no real evidence to suggest what causes them, a lot of people think they are passed on genetically. So, a lot of sufferers may have been born with the condition, but it may only have become more prominent in their teenage years when going through puberty.

Caused by a build-up of sebum and oil in the glands, around 30-50% of the population is affected by Fordyce spots. However, despite the condition being very common, a lot of sufferers are still very embarrassed and scared when first confronted with the spots. Despite them appearing around the genitals and penis, Fordyce spots are not symptoms of sexually transmitted diseases. The condition is actually harmless and cannot be passed from one person to another. Many people seek out treatment as they may feel embarrassed about their appearance, especially when meeting a new sexual partner. So what treatment is there for Fordyce spots?

Even though the condition affects so many of us, there are not very many treatments available. One of the proven products available has been developed by CU-skin Cosmeceuticals and manufactured by Evergreen Holdings. Anti-Sebum contains natural ingredients and agents such as Tocopherol and Regu-Seb which have been proven to effectively reduce the appearance of Fordyce spots in the affected areas. Most users may notice a difference within a week of using the gel twice a day, however in more severe cases further applications may be required over a longer period of time.

Fordyce spots are caused by a build up of sebum and oils in the skin glands. They are commonly found on the shaft of the penis, labia minora or at the corners of the lips. When people first notice them, they may worry the spots are a sign of an STD. However, it is important to realise that Fordyce spots are not symptoms of a serious illness as they are harmless. They may not be very pleasant to look at however so people may wonder, do Fordyce spots go away?

Despite the condition being so common in among around 80% of the population and the fact they cannot be passed on from one person to another, they may still cause some sufferers concern due to their appearance. Unfortunately, it is very rare for Fordyce spots to go away by themselves. That said, there are some treatments which will be able to reduce the size and appearance of the spots, which will help sufferers feel more confident.

One of the treatments, Anti+Sebum has been developed by CU-skin Cosmeceuticals and Evergreen Holdings. By washing the affected area thoroughly and then applying a thin layer of the gel, some users will notice a difference within a few days. However, the length of treatment will depend on the severity of the condition.

So how does the product work? This treatment combines natural ingredients and agents including Regu-Seb and Tocopherol to reduce the size and appearance of the spots. It works by absorbing the excess sebaceous oils from the spots and the surrounding area. The visibility of the spots will be reduced as the pores within the follicles are then tightened which will also reduce the amount of sebum being produced form the gland itself.

The phrase Fordyce spot cure is a misnomer. Fordyce’s spots are a normal outgrowth of sebaceous sweat glands in the skin. These glands create very small white to yellow bumps on the skin of the genitals and other areas. Though sometimes referred to as Fordyce’s disease, this skin condition is extremely common and not harmful at all. The papules are names for a turn of the century dermatologist named John Addison Fordyce, who had a prestigious career focused skin conditions in the United States and in Europe. There is no cure for this “disease,” but there are several treatment options available.

Because there are not ill health effects from having the Fordyce spots, it makes little sense that people would pursue Fordyce spot cure promises that are risky and have serious side effects. However, people all around the world do exactly that. In fact, Fordyce’s spots are more common than you might think. Ninety percent of all males have this skin condition, while seventy to eighty percent of females have it. The spots appear on the shaft of the penis, the scrotum, the labia of the vagina, the lips, mouth, face, and even the nipples.

The placement of the skin growths cause patients to be embarrassed and often prevent them from seeking help or advice. A lack of public awareness of the condition is prevalent yet still odd considering how many people are affected. Embarrassment causes people to hide the growths, even going so far as to refrain from sexual activity altogether. Fordyce spot cure attempts include liquid nitrogen freezing, laser removal, TCA (trichloroacetic acid) chemical peels, and more. Some strong acne medications are sometimes tried out, such as Tretinoin or Isotretinoin (Accutane). All of these treatment attempts have risk of scarring, pain, and undesirable side effects.

Some topical gels are considered safe and effective treatment for Fordyce’s spots. It seems like a Fordyce spot cure because it drastically reduces the size and appearance of the sebaceous glands and the production of the sebum. Applied twice daily to the affected area, these topical applications are typically effective within days. It is important to thoroughly clean the area first with an unscented cleanser and to let the gel absorb completely into the skin for full effectiveness. The best products have Vitamin E in them to nourish the skin and reduce toxicity. An essential part to fighting the hold this condition has on so many lives is promoting public awareness. That’s the real cure for Fordyce’s spots.

Remember the old adage, “the only stupid question is the one that is never asked.” Well, Fordyce’s spots are the question that is never asked. It is widely unknown; however, it occurs in ninety percent of men and seventy to eighty percent of women. The lack of public awareness stems from an overwhelming embarrassment of the condition. Affected people are often so shy about this skin condition that they will not even consult their physician about it. The main reason for this is the placement of the growths. The embarrassment is the main reason people seek Fordyce treatment options too, considering it is not in least bit harmful to your health.

Fordyce’s spots are present at birth but usually become more prevalent and noticeable at puberty. They can present as a single bump or as a groups of symmetrical bumps up to fifty in number. These papules, or bumps, are usually white to yellow in color, though some have a little red. They are one to three millimeters in diameter. Most commonly, they are located in the genital area, but they can also appear in other areas like the lips or nipples. In men, Fordyce’s spots are found on the scrotum and shaft of the penis. Women can find them on the labia of the vagina. Fordyce treatment is better understood when you know what the spots are composed of.

Fordyce’s spots are actually little build-ups of sebaceous glands. These are sweat glands, present in the outer skin layers of all people, which secrete an oily substance called sebum. They are benign skin growths, but the appearance fools some people into thinking they are a sexually transmitted disease or even cancer. Effective Fordyce treatments include topical gels that target these glands, making them smaller and reducing the sebum production to make them less noticeable. The gel is applied two times a day and provides marked improvement in about seven days, or less. Essential to the process is thoroughly cleansing the affected area and letting the gel completely absorb.

These topical gels can be safe, effective, and painless. However, some people insist on looking for Fordyce treatment that is expensive and risky. Some patients treat the condition through TCA chemical peels, laser removal, liquid nitrogen freezing, or very strong acne medicines, like Tretinoin or Isotretinoin (the main ingredient in Accutane). These approaches can leave scarring and cause pain, not to mention numerous side effects, some of them serious. It is important to consult a doctor when considering treatment for any condition.

Fordyce spots condition can sometimes be confused with other skin conditions. Some of the more common ones are pearly penile papules, Angiokeratoma of the scrotum, and genital warts. To recognize the difference, you have to understand what Fordyce’s spots are to begin with. This extraordinarily common skin condition is actually a misallocation of sebaceous sweat glands. It is harmless and occurs in ninety percent of men and seventy percent of women. The condition presents as small white to cream/yellow bumps that are about one to three millimeters in diameter. Upon discovery of such spots, patients should always get checked by a doctor to make sure that it is not a more serious condition.

Another skin issue that presents similarly to Fordyce spots condition is pearly penile papules. These papules, or bumps, show up in the genitals, the most common place for Fordyce’s spots. However, they are typically whiter in appearance. They are simply skin outgrowths, rather than sebaceous glands. Like Fordyce’s spots, they are benign. However, they are much less common, appearing in eight to forty-eight percent of men. These bumps typically appear on the rim and head of the penis while Fordyce’s spots are found on the shaft of the penis and the scrotum.

Click here to view a gallery of Fordyce spots images

Fordyce spots condition can also be mistaken for Angiokeratoma of the scrotum. Angiokeratoma is benign like Fordyce’s spots, but is caused by lesions in the outer layer of the skin. This results in tiny red to blue marks on the skin of the scrotum. How common this is exactly is unknown, but it is thought to be very normal. Angiokeratoma can also present in females in the vulva. Related conditions also show up in other areas of the body. The lesions can appear as a single one or in groups just like Fordyce’s spots. The major difference to remember in telling this condition apart from Fordyce’s spots is the color.

Many people who find Fordyce’s spots on their genitals are scared that they have genital warts. Unlike the non-contagious, benign nature of Fordyce spot condition, genital warts are a sexually transmitted disease that is very contagious. It is caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Genital warts present in men and women in the genital area, anal area, and in rare cases in the mouth. They show up in clusters and can grow quite large in comparison to Fordyce’s spots. They are also darker in color. They can look like bumps or small stalks.

Guide to Fordyce spots

As a general rule, skin conditions tend to make an individual feel afraid that something wrong is happening within their body. Strange blemishes and marks stand out on otherwise normal skin, and if we don’t know the cause or if there is treatment, undue stress can occur. Fordyce spots are one of these conditions, but luckily for those who suffer from them, they are small, harmless, and easily treated.

What are Fordyce spots?

Fordyce spots, also known as ‘Fordyce’s spots’ or ‘Sebaceous Prominence’, are small raised spots that can appear on the penis, vagina, or lip area. The tiny bumps are generally 1-5mm, and tend to be white or yellow in color. Fordyce spots can appear on the penile shaft, the labia portion of the vagina, or around the border of the individual’s lips. Fordyce spots are caused by sebaceous hyperplasia, which is an overgrowth of the lubricating glands that regulate the dryness of your skin. Because Fordyce spots tend to make their first appearance in adolescence, they are often thought of as a sexually transmitted disease. An independent survey has shown that 45% of those with the spots first noticed the condition between the ages of 13-15, with 88% noticing the condition before age 17. Although they appear on the genitals, the tiny bumps are not associated with any particular ailment.

Fordyce spots on the penis

Men are slightly more prone to developing Fordyce spots, making up 52% of respondent that were surveyed. When a young male develops Fordyce spots, the most common location is the shaft of the penis and the scrotum area. It is common to have Fordyce spots in more than one area of your body, and over 50% of sufferers have the spots on both their genitals and lips. The norm tends to be that 35% of those with Fordyce spots have them on their genitals, and just 11% find them only on their lip area.

Fordyce spots on the vagina

In females, Fordyce spots will show up in the vaginal area, often appearing on the vulva itself. Although they are harmless, these spots can cause embarrassment to females, as the untrained eye may believe them to be from a sexually transmitted disease. Lack of treatment can cause stress and perhaps a reluctance to have sexual intercourse.

Fordyce spots on the lips

Although it is uncomfortable to deal with Fordyce spots on the genitals, it is perhaps more embarrassing when you develop them in your lip area. Appearing in the form of a bright red rash across the top and bottom lip, Fordyce spots in this area are highly noticeable.

A safe and effective treatment for Fordyce spots

In the past, those who suffered from Fordyce spots used treatment options that ranged from ineffective home remedies to invasive surgical procedures. The good news is that there is a highly effective treatment option available that will noticeably diminish Fordyce spots. Anti-Sebum Fordyce spot treatment has active ingredients such as Silicon elastomer, Serenoa extract, Sage extract, and Regu-Seb. These components work together to absorb excess sebaceous oils from the affected areas, as well as causing a reduction of the production of sebum in the body. With repeated use, the pores within the follicle tighten, reducing the size and diminishing the appearance of the spots. If you are one of the many who suffer from Fordyce spots, you can relax in the knowledge that there is a dermatologist-tested option for those harmless yet unwanted blemishes. Anti-Sebum is highly effective, and a safe, quick option for both women and men with Fordyce spots.

We made an active decision not to use either Tretinoin or Isotretinoin (Accutane®) as after research neither was an effective or attractive treatment for Fordyce Condition.

Tretinoin is used in some high-dose acne treatments and is an acid form of vitamin A, it has some unfortunate side effects such as creating red sores on the skin.

Isotretinoin or ‘Accutane’ is a medication and is often used in chemotherapy. It is also used for very severe acne, however when treatment stops, symptoms return. There have been few reported successes with ‘Accutane’ for Fordyce Spot treatment, and we felt it unwise to use such a strong treatment which causes a number of side effects:

Dryness of skin, lips and mucous membranes, skin fragility, skin peeling, rash, flushing, nose bleeds, dry eyes, eye irritation, conjunctivitis, reduced tolerance to contact lenses, hyperlipidaemia, raised liver enzymes, permanent thin skin, headaches, permanent hair thinning (This could start or continue after treatment), cataracts and erectile dysfunction.

As an alternative we have opted to use Vitamin E Acetate, a vitamin E supplement to reduce the toxicity of this high-dose retinoid without reducing its active properties.

A nano-liposome is a minute sphere consisting of dozens of nanometers*. A 360° protective wall is built using lecithin, one of the components of skin, and an empty space is made in the centre for the functional ingredients to be released. When it touches the skin the liposome is deposited in the dermis layer, its active ingredients are then released and penetrate the skin and sebaceous glands.

* 1 Nanometer = 1/1000000000meter, this is equivalent to 1/100000 of the thickness of a human hair.

In this experiment fluorescent light appears only on the area in which interferon-gamma exists. The bright fluorescent light appears on the epidermis area only when general cosmetics are applied, but fluorescent light appears on all areas of the skin from epidermis layer to dermis layer. This demonstrates how excellent the skin penetration of the nano-liposome is, as well as its exceptional ability to penetrate the dermis layer with the active ingredients found in our treatment, Tocopherol, Vitamin E Acetate and Regu-Seb.

Fordyce spots, is a condition that presents itself on the skin. They are small, elevated yellowish-white bumps and can show up as a single sebaceous prominence or else can be clustered in groups of many. It is a benign dermatological condition that does not present any medical harm to the patient. However, despite it not being dangerous, many people who have the condition are often left feeling embarrassed and worried about the condition. Once other conditions are ruled out by a physician, the patient still might have concerns over the cosmetic aspect of Fordyce spots. The patient also, oftentimes, is left feeling as if he/she is one of the only people with the condition.

Fordyce spots can be found on various places on the body, including the mouth and nipples. Most commonly, however, these sebaceous prominences are found on the genitals. Affecting both men and women, the condition is estimated to affect seventy to eighty percent of the population. More common in men, it has been reported that ninety percent of the male population is affected by Fordyce spots. However, despite the high rate of occurrence, the condition is still relatively unknown to the general public. Because of this fact, a patient exhibiting Fordyce spots might unnecessarily panic about the severity of the condition.

Although resembling a sexually transmitted disease such as genital warts, a Fordyce Spot is simply a sebaceous prominence. This means that there is a raised sebaceous gland present on the skin. Sebaceous glands are found all over the skin’s surface, most notably on areas of the body containing hair follicles. In the case of Fordyce spots, the sebaceous glands do not contain hair follicles, but the glands themselves sometimes end up protruding from the skin. This protrusion is what causes the yellow, little bumps characterizing the condition.

The papules, or little bumps, that lead to Fordyce spots are actually present even at birth. It is upon reaching puberty that a sebaceous prominence, such as a Fordyce Spot, will develop. As Fordyce spots often show up in the genital region of the body, many people with the condition tend to not talk about it openly. Often immediately assuming that the bumps are an indicator of cancer or a sexually transmitted disease, the patient may put off discussing the condition with others, including his/her doctor due to fear and embarrassment. However, there is no need for alarm and concern. Although cosmetically not an ideal condition to have, Fordyce spots are much more common than one realizes.

Fordyce spots are a common dermatological condition. They are essentially just a sebaceous prominence. This means that there is simply an overgrowth of the sebaceous glands. Sebaceous glands are small glands that produce oil and are present on virtually all areas of the skin, excluding the palms and soles. They are most commonly found in places that hair follicles are present. However, in the case of Fordyce spots, these glands do not contain hair follicles. Often mistaken for other conditions, such as genital warts or even cancer, Fordyce spots are benign. They are essentially just a cosmetic issue, but as they are often mistaken for other, more serious conditions, many patients are interested in ridding themselves of the spots.

Although affecting both men and women, Fordyce spots are more common in men. In fact it is not uncommon to find the spots, also referred to as a sebaceous prominence in almost ninety-percent of the male population. These prominences can present themselves in groups or as single spots. Most often found on the genitals, Fordyce spots are often mistaken for other conditions, most commonly genital warts, or other sexually transmitted diseases. Although not dangerous, many people exhibiting Fordyce spots are embarrassed by the condition. For this reason, many men choose to look into treatment of the condition.

Women are also subject to exhibiting Fordyce spots. Although less common in women, it is still a cosmetic concern that many women would like to eliminate. Although not contagious, as is also the case with men, a sebaceous prominence can often be mistaken by the patient or others as a sexually transmitted disease. Similar to warts, Fordyce spots appear not only on the genitals of both men and women, but can also present themselves on the borders of the lips and the face of both genders.

Not yet showing itself as a major sebaceous prominence, Fordyce spots start out as small papules and are present even at birth. Papules are simply small rounded bumps rising from the skin. Before puberty, these papules are virtually impossible to see. However, once puberty hits, these papules become more prominent as the sebaceous glands begin to work harder. These glands secrete sebum, an oily, waxy substance that plays a major role in the condition. Estimated to be found in seventy to eighty percent of the population, Fordyce spots are a common condition. However, despite being so widespread, it is a condition that is rarely discussed and still carries with it a sense of embarrassment for the patient.

Dermatological conditions that occur on the genitals are often difficult to distinguish from one another. Two such conditions are Fordyce spots and Pearly Penile Papules. Both are dermatological conditions affecting the genitals. Fordyce spots are a sebaceous prominence, meaning that they are both found near and are an extension of this type of sweat gland. Pearly Penile Papules, not associated with sebaceous glands, are simply skin outgrowths. Both conditions are benign and do not present health concerns. They are also considered to possibly be genetic but as of now the exact cause of the conditions is unknown.

Although reports of color vary, it is typically reported that Fordyce spots tend to be yellowish-white in color, while pearly penile papules have a whiter appearance. It should be noted that both can also be classified as flesh colored. Both conditions are found on the male genitals. Fordyce spots are only located on the shaft and scrotum of the penis and do not appear on the head. Pearly Penile Papules are found on the rim or head of the penis and sometimes around the sides of the frenulum. In addition to location of the bumps, the two conditions also differ in the amount that they protrude. A Fordyce spot, also referred to as a sebaceous prominence, is located completely under the surface of the skin while pearly penile papules tend to appear more like a skin tag.

Both Fordyce spots and Pearly Penile Papules can be found on the male genitals and both exhibit themselves as raised bumps. Although differing slightly in both color and prominence, the two conditions can appear quite similar. Particularly when reading descriptions of the two conditions, a patient will most likely have a difficult time discerning between the two. However, as neither a sebaceous prominence nor a Pearly Penile Papule present a major medical problem, and neither are transmittable, distinguishing between the two is most likely not a major concern.

More commonly reported, Fordyce spots are estimated to appear in ninety percent of the male population. However, reports of Pearly Penile Papules range anywhere from eight to forty-eight percent depending on the population. One reason for the large range is that circumcision may lower the incidence of Pearly Penile Papules. However, as a sebaceous prominence is never located on the head of the penis, circumcision does affect this condition. Although there are a few inherent differences between Fordyce spots and Pearly Penile Papules, both conditions present a cosmetic issue that can be psychologically difficult to deal with and can cause significant embarrassment for the patient. Our formula primarily deals with the elimination of Fordyce spots, however it can also help reduce the size of Penile Papules with the removal of excess oils.

There are two issues that men and women have to deal with in their lower regions that often get confused with one another: Fordyce spots and genital warts. A lot of people actually assume they are the same condition, and thus people that have Fordyce spots often avoid talking about their issues because they think they come from a sexually transmitted disease or even some form of cancer. In all actuality, genital warts are nothing like Fordyce spots, and there is a large percentage of the population impacted by the latter. Let’s go over some of the differences so you can pinpoint exactly what you have.

Genital warts Biopsy

One of the main differences between Fordyce spots and genital warts is the size of the issue. Fordyce spots are often tiny bumps that are roughly the size of a pen head. Genital warts, however, are much larger, and they take on a round shape on the surface of the skin. Both of the conditions may show up in clusters, but Fordyce spots tend to look more uniform. The warts may all blend together to form a bubbly surface on the skin. The spots just put a texture over it. Both Fordyce spots and genital warts can be found on other areas of the body, predominantly the lips. Fordyce spots, however, often show up on the nipples – a place where you don’t see genital warts. Both do show up on the genital area most of the time, but Fordyce spots will be seen in other areas more often than genital warts will, predominantly mucous membranes.

Fordyce spots Biopsy

The reason for the spread of locations is based on how each problem is transmitted. Fordyce spots are not contagious. They occur naturally in the body as a gland that usually turns into a hair follicle. When that doesn’t happen, the gland may show up on the surface of the skin. Genital warts come from a sexually transmitted disease, and they are only passed through open wounds on the body. They do not surface naturally. Both Fordyce spots and genital warts may be unpleasant to live with, but it is important to note the differences between the two.

If you are looking for a treatment for Fordyce spots, we have a special formula that targets the glands causing the bumps. The natural ingredients in the gel absorb into your skin making it smoother once again. There will be no more insecurities.

Fordyce spots should not cause pain or any medical complications; however, some people cannot help but to irritate and scratch foreign bumps and spots on their own body. Also, these bumps and spots can appear in embarrassing places according to some people such as on the lips and on genitalia. It’s common for men and women to have self conscious issues when blemishes of any kind appear on the face. Men and women can also be self conscious about their genital area especially if they are in a new relationship or in the early stages of one. The answer to these physical appearance issues is a Fordyce cure.

There are many treatment options for Fordyce spots but many have side effects that should be discussed with a doctor before the treatment begins. In addition, some of the after effects will be more uncomfortable if the area where the spots exist is a tender region. A dermatologist can use vaporizing laser therapy to diminish the appearance of the spots. Many doctors do not like to use this treatment for this particular condition since the issue at hand is only cosmetic and this laser therapy can result in scarring. Doctors can also prescribe chemical peels to have successful ridding of the bumps or spots; however, when the treatment is discontinued the spots often return making this not the best Fordyce cure.

Tretinoin gel is another Fordyce cure option that is physically placed on the area with the spots or bumps every day. It is known to reverse the condition with time and it will definitely not allow the condition to worsen. Tretinoin works best if also used with alpha hydroxy acid, which is what many use to defeat acne. The two seem to work well together to fight the appearance of the spots and bumps. Argania extract, tocopherol and jojoba oil are natural ingredients that have also been known to rid of the Fordyce bumps and spots.

One particular treatment method to try is using a product made with natural ingredients including: sesame extract, vitamin E acetate, sage extract, argania extract, and tocopherol. The product is a sebum control which means it extracts sebaceous oils out of the spots as well as reducing the amount of sebum produced in the area where the treatment is applied. This Fordyce cure, made by CU-Skin also tightens the pores in the area. This treatment reduces the size of the bumps and leaves the skin smoother. In most cases this product should have the area free of Fordyce spots within one month and visible improvements will occur within two weeks.

Fordyce spots women have are located on the labia and appear as small white or pale raised bumps or spots. The bumps are created naturally from the body and are not contagious nor a sign of an infectious disease.

Fordyce spots women have are located on the labia and appear as small white or pale raised bumps or spots. The bumps are created naturally from the body and are not contagious nor a sign of an infectious disease. If the bumps are Fordyce spots, basically they are simply a cosmetic concern; however, bumps on the female genitalia can mean more serious problems and diseases so it is always a smart idea to have a doctor make sure a more serious condition is not present. Fordyce spots on women should not cause any pain and can appear on women of any age.

The Fordyce spots women get are a form of ectopic sebaceous gland. Sebaceous glands secretions are usually the cause of the bumps or spots. These glands are mostly around hair follicles and cause Fordyce spots on various parts of the body. Women can experience these cosmetic imperfections on any part of their body including on the borders of their lips on the face. There is some evidence that shows there is a genetic link as to how we get them, but otherwise it is not known. It is known that they are not caused by bacteria or infections.

No treatment is necessary for the Fordyce spots women have and they can simply be left alone. Some women find the spots unpleasant visually and are self conscious that their partner may believe they have some sort of a contagious sexually transmitted disease. If a woman wants to reduce the appearance of the spots there are treatment options. Treatments for the spots a dermatologist performs can include chemical peels, cryosurgery (uses extreme cold to remove spots), and laser treatments. These treatments can cause redness, scarring, scabs to form and burning so it may be best to consider other options for the female genital region. Probably the best option is to try a natural treatment in a cream or gel form

One natural treatment for Fordyce spots women that get has ingredients such as sage extract, vitamin E acetate, sesame extract and silicon elastomer. This treatment, a sebum control made by CU-Skin, extracts excess secretions from the sebaceous glands it’s applied to, shrinks pores, and substantially decreases the amount of secretion from the glands. The skin that is being treated becomes smoother and the appearance of the annoying little bumps or spots disappears. The product can be mailed directly to your home without red flags on the outside of the box showing what you have ordered for your respected privacy. If you want to rid of the unsightly little critters, you may want to try a natural treatment.

Fordyce spots were named after a dermatologist by the name of John Addison Fordyce. Even though they are tiny, people become very worried by these little critters especially because most people are the most self conscious about blemishes and issues that appear on any part of the face. The white bumps may not even be noticed by others; however, the person with them will certainly know they exist and feel they are bigger than they actually are.

If you have Fordyce spots lips, you’ll feel as though people are looking at you like you have a contagious infectious disease, but you do not. The bumps are a natural bodily process that is caused by sebaceous glands which are mostly located where hair follicles reside on the body. White spots on lips are caused by ectopic sebaceous glands and normally appear on the lips on the outer surfaces. Even though the glands that produce these bumps are known, the true cause of why and when they appear is not. This condition can pop up spontaneously for an unknown reason on males and females of any age.

To treat the Fordyce spots lips you can leave them alone and wait for them to naturally disappear but you’ll never know how long this could take. You of course have the option of seeing a dermatologist but there are many treatments that they will advise against since they are harmless natural little bumps or spots. Plus, one of the treatments a dermatologist can give you is a chemical peel that will make the bumps disappear, but most likely the bumps will return after the treatment is discontinued. Tretinoin gel or cream is known to help the spots disappear as well as remedies with natural ingredients.

If you have the condition Fordyce spots lips and want to reduce their size and appearance you may want to try a product with natural ingredients that can be delivered to your door. If you go to a dermatologist you’ll be taking a risk if they will do any procedures for the bumps or spots. Our product co-developed by CU-Skin is made with active natural ingredients such as vitamin E acetate, sesame extract, sage extract, and tocopherol. It eliminates the excess secretions from the sebaceous glands, tightens the pores, and reduces the production of the sebum from the glands. This treatment leaves the area smoother and free of the bumps.
